  The League of Municipalities is hosting a seminar on compliance with the Local Government Ethics Law, a topic that has been the subject of numerous NJFOG posts. Sessions are Oct. 19 and Oct. 26, 2016. Fee applies. We hope the League recommends disclosure for matters that fall into “the gray area.” Sunlight is best!

North Jersey Media v. Lyndhurst Twp:   The NJ Supreme Court will hear oral argument on this case on either Nov. 7 or Nov. 9, 2016.  This is a change of date -- previously the Court scheduled argument for either Oct. 11 or Oct. 13. This is the case that greatly restricted the public's access to police records.
