Free OPRA/OPMA forum on June 20 in Burlington County!
June 20, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
UPDATE (6/21/2017): If you didn’t see NJFOG’s seminar in Southampton last night, you missed a great presentation. It was live-streamed — thank you Citizen’s Media TV — so you can watch it HERE. Presenter John Paff was mega-revved from his same-day NJ Supreme Court win, both entertaining and on-point throughout! NJFOG’s own video of the event will be posted soon and available on our Youtube channel. Many thanks to all the attendees and volunteers, to the presenters, and especially to our co-sponsor the Pinelands Preservation Alliance for use of their awesome new meeting space and for their help with set-up and last minute copying!
The New Jersey Foundation for Open Government (NJFOG) and co-sponsor Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) invite you to join us for a discussion of the state’s open public records and meetings laws (OPRA and OPMA) on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Award-winning open government advocate John Paff will be speaking!
The forum will be held in Burlington County in the newly renovated barn on PPA’s property (Bishop Farmstead) located at 17 Pemberton Road, Southampton Township, NJ 08088. Parking is available on-site.
The Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) was established as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 1989 by environmental leaders and Pinelands residents, with the goal of preserving and protecting the more than 1 million acres of the New Jersey Pinelands. PPA remains the only private organization dedicated solely to environmental protection throughout the Pinelands. PPA knows that an open and transparent government is key to protecting our environment and our fellow residents.
The New Jersey Foundation for Open Government (NJFOG) is the only non-profit organization in the state dedicated solely to improving public access to governmental records and meetings. We work to educate the public about the Open Public Records Act and Open Public Meetings Act as well as increase governmental compliance, transparency, and accountability.
This special event is free and open to all, so please spread the word and bring your questions on June 20. Handouts and light refreshments will be provided. The night of the event is also a great time to join NJFOG to get a free gift with membership, while supplies last.
Walk-ins are always welcome, however we ask that you register so that NJFOG will have enough materials for everyone. Registration will reserve your handouts. Please register by emailing your name and the number of persons attending to firstname.lastname@example.org. Use subject line “June 20 seminar registration”. Thank you!
If you need to contact NJFOG, email us at email@example.com or call 732-992-6550.
Please be sure to check with the organizer or venue to ensure the accuracy of the date and time prior to attending any event.
