May 7, 2016: The Citizens Campaign hosts a Civic Summit for citizen journalists

Citizens Campaign Civic Summit Invite May 7 2016The Citizens Campaign invites you to its Civic Summit being held on Saturday, May 7th at Rider University, 2083 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. The Summit will be held in the Cavalla Room in the Bart Luedeke Center.

The day will start with registration and breakfast at 9:30AM followed by training sessions in citizen journalism, political strategies, and solving urban problems.

They have a great panel lined up featuring Heather Taylor, Manager of Digital Media and Programs at Dow Jones; Paterson Press Editor Joe Malinconico; and Brick City Live Founder and Editor Andaiye Taylor.

The morning session will end with a power luncheon for all Summit attendees.  The lunchtime keynote speaker will be Dr. Joseph Youngblood II, Ph.D., J.D., who is the Vice Provost and Dean of John S. Watson School of Public Service at Thomas Edison State University.

After lunch, there will be a brief afternoon session to continue the conversation on how to be an effective citizen journalist. The Citizens Campaign welcomes your suggestions for additional training and/or discussion during the afternoon session.
