UPDATE (3/4/2016): The NJ-Society of Professional Journalists has extended its journalism contest deadline to 11:59 Tuesday, March 8 for all categories EXCEPT the Awbrey, a special local journalism category for work that goes the extra mile and seeks to engage and improve communities. Because the Awbrey requires extra documentation, the deadline for submissions is March 15. However, because of technical issues, after March 8, all Awbrey submissions need to be sent to [email protected]. Just be sure to put “Awbrey awards” in the subject line.

The New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists’ annual Excellence in Journalism contest opens today, Jan. 4! The contest seeks to honor the best Garden State journalism produced in 2015 from news organizations large and small and across all mediums. To view the more than 50 contest categories, click here.
