NOW ONLINE: The Delaware River Port Authority’s open records policy, request form and officer

The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) now has on its website the basic information needed to request public records from the agency.

On March 24, NJFOG officer John Paff sent DRPA an email describing problems with the records request procedure listed on the agency’s website.   While requiring that DRPA’s own form be filled out and sent to DRPA’s open records officer, the agency provided neither the form nor officer information online.

We subsequently reported that small progress was made. Someone had been assigned the job of updating the open records policy and creating the request form, and though an open records officer had not been formally named, the public could in the meantime send requests to DRPA’s general counsel, whose email address was listed in the post.

Today, NJFOG received an email from DRPA with the following link to the Open Records/Right to Know page on the Authority’s website:  http://www.drpa.org/news/openrecordspolicy.html.   The page now contains the current open records policy, a request form, and contact information for the open records officer.
