Property Tax Transparency bills moving through NJ Legislature

Bill A3223 (S2056) requires the state to annually post online complete property tax data, specifically average homestead rebate and average net property taxes.  Earlier this year, the Department of Community Affairs removed this information from its website for years 2008 – 2012.

A3223 passed the full Assembly in September of this year.  The bills are now moving through the Senate – they are on the December 8, 2014 agenda for the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee. (UPDATE: They passed and are now on to the full Senate.)
