TUESDAY, JUNE 23: OPMA, OPRA reform bills S781, S782 on legislative agenda!

New Jersey OPMA and OPRA reform bills, S781 and S782 respectively, are on the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee agenda for its meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM, Committee Room 4, 1st Floor, State House Annex, Trenton, NJ.

The bills, as currently amended, are a significant improvement over existing law and are supported by NJFOG, ACLU-NJ, NJPA, and SPJ-NJ.  However, there continues to be push-back from other organizations seeking to weaken the bills.

PLEASE TAKE ACTION:  CALL OR EMAIL your Senator and the members of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and ask them to support the bills and to resist attempts to weaken them!  Find contact information for your Senator here and find the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee members here.

The bills were previously heard by the Senate Committee on June 8.  Testimony was taken, but no vote was held at that time.
